Bill Payments
Q: Is it necessary to pre-register bill accounts before paying a bill online?
A: No, pre-registration of bill accounts is not required.

For payment to a new payee, you can select the payee from the payee list and make the payment immediately. After successful completion of the payment, the payee record will be displayed in the default page of the bill payments services for future payment purposes.

To make another payment to the payee, you can select the payee record from the summary page.
   
Q: Is it necessary to notify the payees if the bill payments service is used?
A: No need. After a payment instruction is executed, the Bank will electronically provide the payee with the relevant information for their reconciliation.
   
Q: Can two bill accounts be set up for the same payee?
A: Yes.
   
Q: What types of debit accounts are supported for Bill Payments?
A: The following types of accounts are supported:

HKD Current Account
HKD Statement / Passbook Savings Account
HKD Current / Savings Account under Integrated Account
Hang Seng Commercial Card / Hang Seng Corporate Card account
   
Q: Up to how much can Portfolio Daily Limit for bill payments be increased?
A: The current maximum Portfolio Daily Limit is HKD1,000,000 (HKD One Million). Such increase can be done through an amendment request with a company's resolution. Please click here to obtain the “Business e-Banking Services Amendment/Termination Form”.
   
Q: Which are the payees to whom bill payments can be made?
A: A list of payees is available in the pull-down menu while adding the bill payees. The list is maintained by the Bank and is subject to changes from time to time without further notice.
   
Direct Debit Authorisation
Q: What can be achieved through setting up a Direct Debit Authorisation in Business e-Banking?
A: It grants the Bank the right to debit the account designated by Primary User to honor recurrent bills raised by a bill payee regularly.
   
Q: Which are the payees with whom Direct Debit Authorisation can be set up?
A: The list of payees is available in the pull-down menu while setting up a Direct Debit Authorisation. The list is maintained by the Bank and is subject to changes from time to time without further notice.
   
Q: What does it mean if no amount has been input for Limit Amount?
A: It means the payment is 'unlimited'.
   
Q: When will a Direct Debit Authorisation set up take effect?
A: Upon acceptance and setting up by the payees. Some payees will provide advices for the commencement date of a Direct Debit Authorisation, while some others will have such notice be made on the bill. Please contact the payees directly for details of the Direct Debit Authorisation set up.
   
Q: When will amendment / cancellation of a Direct Debit Authorisation take effect?
A: At least 3 working days. If the amendment is on expiry date, it will take at least 7 calendar days.
   
Q: How can details of Direct Debit Authorisations which have already been set up be enquired?
A: Please call our Customer Service Representatives on (852) 2198 8000 for details. However, if a Direct Debit Authorisation remains inactive for over two years, the instruction will be automatically deleted without further notice.
   
Q: Can amendment / deletion of a Direct Debit Authorisation be made pending?
A: No. However, an expiry date on which a direct debit authorisation will be cancelled can be specified.
   
Q: Can the Debtor Reference and/or Deduct From Account be amended?
A: No. The Direct Debit Authorisation has to be cancelled first and replaced by another new set up.
   
Q: Can the Direct Debit Authorisation list be enquired online?
A: Yes. If the beneficiary has accepted and set up your Direct Debit Authorisation, the Primary User can enquire the Direct Debit Authorisation list of the company through Business e-Banking Services, or contact our Customer Service Representatives on (852) 2198 8000 during office hour.
   
Q: Can the Direct Debit Authorisation instructions placed at branches be enquired via Business e-Banking?
A: Yes.
