Prepare MPF Remittance Statement and Payroll Transaction
Q: What can I do if I want to submit MPF Remittance Statement through Business e-Banking?
A: If you want to submit the MPF Remittance Statement, you need to fill in an application form (for new Business e-Banking customer) or an amendment form (for existing Business e-Banking customer) to provide information and assign the transaction limit of each Pay Centre.
   
Q: Which payment method can be used for submitting MPF Remittance Statement on Business e-Banking?
A: The payment method of the Pay Centre should be in Direct Debit method. You are required to submit the Hang Seng Mandatory Provident Fund - Direct Debit Authorisation (Employer) [HA14] if you want to set up Direct Debit as the payment method.
   
Q: Can I submit MPF Remittance Statement for those newly added Pay Centres in Business
e-Banking?
A: Those newly added Pay Centres will be displayed on the Business e-Banking Pay Centre list but will not be available for selection. You need to fill in an amendment form to provide the information of the new Pay Centre and assign the transaction limit before you can submit the MPF Remittance Statement through Business e-Banking.
   
Q: When will a new MPF Remittance Statement be generated?
A: A new MPF Remittance Statement will be generated at around 10 days prior to the end of the contribution period.
   
Q: When is the data shown in the MPF Remittance Statement updated?
A: The data of the Remittance is updated as of the last submission date.
   
Q: How to prepare the MPF Remittance Statement for Casual Employee?
A: To prepare the MPF Remittance Statement for Casual Employee, you are required to input the contribution date for the Casual Employee and a bill number will be generated. Then, you can select the captioned bill to prepare the MPF Remittance Statement.
   
Q: How long can the Earliest Direct Debit Date be made in advance?
A: The Earliest Direct Debit Date can be made up to 45 working days in advance. (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays)
   
Q: Is there any cut-off time for setting the direct debit date as the current day? If I submit the MPF Remittance Statement after the cut-off time on the contribution day since the 'Earliest Direct Debit Date' cannot be set as the current day, will the MPF Remittance Statement be considered as submitted on the contribution day ?
A: You can set the current day as the 'Earliest Direct Debit Date' only if you submit the Remittance Statement via Hang Seng Business e-Banking before 5pm (Hong Kong Time)(Monday to Friday except public holiday). If you submit the Remittance Statement between 5pm to 11:59pm (Hong Kong Time)(Monday to Friday except public holiday), you can only set the next working day or the working day thereafter as the 'Earliest Direct Debit Date'. Please note that if you submit the Remittance Statement between 5pm to 11:59pm (Hong Kong Time)(Monday to Friday except public holiday) and set the next working day as the 'Earliest Direct Debit Date', we will regard the Remittance Statement is submitted on the day. Please reserve sufficient time to submit your Remittance Statement as there may be a time lag in transmission of information via the Internet.
   
Q: How to report new employee?
A: You may click 'Add/Amend New Employee' button and input the information of the new employees. Please arrange your employees to submit the 'Employee Application Form'.
   
Q: How to report terminated employee?
A: You may click 'Add/Amend Termination' button and input the information of the terminated employees.
   
Q: Is there any supporting document I need to submit for claiming the Long Service Payment / Severance Payment?
A: When you have reported employee termination with Long Service Payment / Severance Payment, you will receive an e-mail of Payment Proof for Long Service Payment / Severance Payment. You are required to complete and submit the Payment Proof for Long Service Payment / Severance to the Scheme administrator by post. Any requests for refund for offsetting Long Service Payment or Severance Payment can only be proceed with the payment proof.
   
Q: What can I do if there are changes in the MPF Relevant Income of some employees?
A: You may update the MPF Relevant Income of the related employees and click 'Calculate and Save' button to update the new mandatory contributions before submitting the MPF Remittance Statement.
   
Q: What will happen if I do not have sufficient fund in my account?
A: The Scheme Administrator will issue the paper notice 'Direct Debit Transaction' and the 'Contribution Remittance Advice' form. You are required to submit the form and settle the captioned payment by cheque.
   
Q: How do I know if the MPF Remittance Statement has been submitted?
A: An acknowledgement message will be displayed after the MPF Remittance Statement has been submitted. Upon successful purchase of funds, 'Fund Purchase Confirmation' will be received under 'MPF Inbox' section.
   
Q: What will happen if the transaction limit of a user is exceeded or the user does not have adequate authority to submit the MPF Remittance Statement?
A: If the transaction limit is exceeded or the user does not have adequate authority, the MPF Remittance Statement will be placed under 'Submit MPF Remittance Statement' section and a message 'Instruction Received; Authorisation Required' will be displayed. Another user with adequate limit and authority should submit the MPF Remittance Statement again under 'Submit MPF Remittance Statement' section.
   
Q: How can I arrange autopay payment for payroll based on MPF Remittance Statement employee list?
A: For customers with Autopay service in Business e-Banking, you may select the "Make Payroll Payment to employees" checkbox to prepare autopay tranasctions of payroll for your employees according to your MPF Remittance Statement Contribution Period.
   
Q: How does Business e-Banking calculate the payroll amount?
A:

Payroll amounts of each employee is automatically calculated based on MPF Relevant Income and MPF Contribution amounts. The calculation rule of payroll amount is:

(MPF Relevant Income +/- Payroll Amount Adjustment - Employee Mandatory MPF Contribution - Employee Voluntary MPF Contribution).

   
Q: What will happen if the transaction limit of a user is exceeded or the user does not have adequate authority to submit the autopay transaction for payroll?
A: The tranasction will be in pending status and placed in "Authorisation" under "Cash Management".
   
Q: Can I still amend the autopay for payroll amount after I have confirmed the submission?
A: If the autopay transaction for payroll has not been executed, it can be amended in "Pending Autopay" under "Autopay" function in "Cash Management".

Q: How can I change the MPF Remittance Statement which is placed under 'Submit MPF Remittance Statement' section?
A: You may select the MPF Remittance Statement by clicking the 'Submit' button. If you find that the MPF Remittance Statement needs modification, you may click 'Modify' button. If you confirm to amend your MPF Remittance Statement, please click 'OK'. We will pass your MPF Remittance Statement back to the first page of the details of the 'Prepare MPF Remittance Statement and Payroll Transaction'. Please go to 'Preparation' section to amend the MPF Remittance Statement.
   
Q: Can I still amend the contribution amount after I have confirmed the submission?
A: No, once you have confirmed your submission, you cannot amend any figure again.
