Q: Why can't I receive e-Alerts?
A:
The following are some possible reasons why you cannot receive e-Alerts:
1. Invalid contact information:
If an e-mail address and/or mobile phone number is invalid (i.e. our system detected failure in e-Alert delivery), we will immediately suspend e-Alerts sent to that e-mail address and/or mobile phone number. Please ensure your contact information recorded at "Contact Information" under the "Customer Service" section are valid in order to successfully receive e-Alerts.
2. e-Alert Services termination:
If you have terminated the e-Alert Services through the "Hang Seng Business e-Banking Services Amendment/Termination Form", you will not receive e-Alerts. You can complete the same form to register for the e-Alert Services and set-up all of your e-Alerts again.
3. Lack of authority:
You require authority to receive e-Alerts via the desired delivery channel, and the authority to access an account's information in order to receive e-Alerts with that account's details. Primary User(s) can delegate such authority(ies) to Secondary User(s) at "User Profile" under the "Management Control" section.

Q: How to set up instructions for receiving e-Alerts?
A: Simply go to the "Set Up e-Alert" page, select the e-Alert that you want to set up and complete the information required.

Q: Can all Hang Seng Bank accounts linked to Business e-Banking be shown in the pull down list when setting up e-Alerts?
A: Some e-Alerts only apply to certain accounts. For example, if you wish to set up an Above-balance Reminder, you must have a valid deposit account. If you do not have any account of the intended type, you will not be eligible to set up that e-Alert.

Q: How many recipients can be assigned in each e-Alert instruction?
A: Up to three recipients can be assigned for each e-Alert instruction via each delivery channel. Both primary users and secondary users can be target recipients. All recipients must have e-Alert services activated in order to receive the e-Alert messages.

Q: How to amend or delete pre-set e-Alert instructions?
A: Simply go to the "Enquire/Amend e-Alert" and select the "Amend" or "Delete" button to make the required changes from a list of the existing e-Alert instructions.

Q: Why do I need to assign an Account Nickname for my company's account with the Bank?
A: For security reasons, Account Nickname is used to refer to your specified account on e-Alerts, and your company's bank account number will not be displayed in full on e-Alerts. The Account Nickname can be selected from the pull down box, or nickname personalized one you input (maximum 20 alphanumeric characters). Never use your company's bank account number as your Account Nickname.
